More about me:
Do you ever find yourself confused about what you should and should not be eating? It can be a challenge to differentiate between fact and fiction when it comes to food and nutrition. I work with clients to develop the tools necessary to create lifestyle adjustments that promote health, balance, and sustainability. I take an individualized, non-diet approach in order to cater to the specific needs of my clients. Nutrition sessions are specialized to meet your current needs and I am able to provide you with a nutritional assessment, meal planning tools, nutrition education, experiential sessions, family support, and coordination of care with an established network of clinical providers such as physicians, counselors, and wellness programs.
I graduated from the University of Texas in 2005 with a B.S. in Nutrition then moved to Raleigh, NC to complete a one-year dietetic internship where I had the privilege of working at the Duke Medical Center, the Duke Diet & Fitness Center, and the Durham County Health Department. I have been licensed as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist since 2006 and specialize in treating eating disorders and disordered eating. I have experience working with schools, churches and medical practices to provide medical nutrition therapy to both children and adults. In 2013, I wrote a Biblically-based curriculum for churches to use with groups of women who are seeking freedom over emotional eating tendencies. Then in 2015, I joined the nutrition team at the Eating Recovery Center of Dallas to provide nutrition education and counseling to children and adults with more severe eating disorders. I now serve as the Eating Recovery Center’s Regional Nutrition Director for Texas and separate from this meet with clients on an outpatient basis. I am currently a member of the International Association of Eating Disorders, am a certified Intuitive Eating Pro, and a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist & Supervisor.
My 16+ years of experience as a Registered Dietitian has included working with adolescents, adults, and families at the inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and outpatient levels of care. I have experience working with clients of all ages and a variety of eating disorder diagnoses including Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, ARFID, and OSFED. I provide both individual and family nutritional counseling to my clients that include faith-based principles and the latest nutrition research. I can also help refer to a higher level of care when needed.
My nutrition philosophy is that all foods can fit into a healthy lifestyle and that there are no “good” foods or “bad” foods. A brownie is just as permissible to eat as a salad! I believe that food is designed to nourish the body and is also meant to be enjoyed. I work with clients to find flexibility and freedom with eating so that they can prioritize the joyful and meaningful parts of their lives. In my free time, I enjoy spending quality time with my fun-loving husband, playing with my adorable goldendoodles, and trying new recipes.
