Walk-and-Talk Therapy is another approach used at Harvest Counseling and Wellness, which combines traditional talk therapy with movement outdoors. This approach is effective for those that have difficulty with face-to-face interactions, those who have difficulty sitting for extended amounts of time, and those who want a more mind-body-spirit approach to therapy. We find teens and men can especially benefit from this approach.
Walk-and-talk therapy is a way to take out the awkwardness of face-to-face therapy sessions, just as parents sometimes find it easier to have serious conversations with their teens by taking car rides or playing football in the yard. Some of our therapists may provide this side-by-side approach as an option so clients can bring their dogs to their therapy sessions or toss the football around on the lawn.
If walk-and-talk therapy is something that interests you, please inquire with the therapist of your choice for availability. Our owner, Brad Cullum also offers walk-and-talk therapy on the golf course for men for a more intensive therapy session. Please contact him individually for pricing and special scheduling.
