More about me:

Life is complex—full of difficult situations and relationships. We can find ourselves out of ideas and hopeless in these times and in need of direction and help. Reaching out for help through counseling is an appropriate and useful tool on this journey.  I believe that we are capable of real change, true peace, and joy.  It is possible to have deep, meaningful, fulfilling relationships full of well expressed and understood communication. It is my greatest hope to help individuals (7 yr olds and up), couples and families come into peace and joy within their relationships and personal lives.

It is important for you as a client to know that I am for you and with you every step of the way. I have experience helping individuals, couples, adolescents, and children through a number of different spiritual and mental health related issues. I have a particular interest and heart for helping those that have a history of abuse and trauma, gained from my time working as a case manager in foster care agencies.

I have been a therapist for over 15 years.  I have worked  as an individual counselor, family therapist, mentor to at-risk youth, and grief specialist. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, relationship issues, career challenges, OCD, ADHD and anger control issues.

I have also had the privilege and blessing of working in the hospital setting, treating head injury and stroke patients for over 15 years.  During that time, I was responsible for helping both the patient and the family adjust to the changes and disabilities associated with head injuries.  I was the primary grief therapist for the hospital and Neuro Program.  I also worked very hard to become a hospital administrator to better impact and shape the care for my community.

My Specialties Include:

Anxiety,
Parenting & Family Issues,
Couples & Marital Issues,
Trauma & Abuse,
Traumatic Brain Injuries,
Stroke Recovery,
Men’s Issues

My experience working as a hospital administrator, specifically in the rehabilitation setting has taught me that even extreme setbacks and disabilities can be overcome, embraced, and used to better oneself. The obstacles and challenges we face and overcome not only change us, but become the very tools we use to help ourselves and others.

I am also the father of three amazing boys, and consider my family my greatest success and learning experience. I am so grateful that I get to lead them and watch them grow. Nothing brings me more happiness and love.

I am excited to get to know you and help you navigate any issue you are choosing to overcome through counseling. My counseling style is client centered and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect and compassion. My approach combines Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and biblical wisdom and principles. I always collaborate with my clients for treatment plans, and goal setting to meet their unique and specific needs.

It takes a lot of courage and readiness to take the first step. If you are ready to take that step and put in honest effort and work, then I am here to support and guide you.

I look forward to working with you!
